How does it work?
Post Treatment Expectations
For superficial treatments:
- Downtime is typically minimal, 1-3 days with minimal to no edema and erythema
- MENDs* will typically appear on day 2 and last 1-2 days
- Optimal results are typically noticed between 4-6 weeks
For deeper treatments:
- Downtime is typically moderate and dependent on the extent of energy used during the treatment. Typical downtime is 2-7 days with mild to moderate edema and erythema
- Edema is typically at its worst at day 2-3 and improves significantly by day 4
- Erythema usually fades quickly over the first week but some mild erythema can linger for up to 2 weeks.
- Mild erythema and contact related petechiae** can persist up to 4 weeks post-treatment but typically resolve within 1-2 weeks
- Optimal results are typically noticed at 3 months but can be seen as soon as 2 weeks post-treatment
- **Body treatments will incur a longer healing period than treatments to face**
Treatment Course Recommendations
It is recommended to complete a total of 2-3 treatments spaced approximately 1 month apart
- Longer times between treatments (6-8 weeks) may be required if higher energies are used or patient requires longer healing time
- Body areas have a longer healing time and longer times between treatments are recommended (6-8 weeks)
Additional treatments may be needed depending on the se
